Giant earthworm discovered in China mistaken for a snake...

A giant earthworm was discovered in China. Originally, Li Zhiwei, actually mistook the earthworm for a snake because it was so big, according to a September 5 report from Metro.

Of his astonishing find, Zhiwei said,

"It looked like a snake, I looked carefully and found it was actually a huge earthworm."

Can you imagine finding something that is typically small that had grown so large in your own back yard? It seems the Zhiwei was so enamored with his unusual find that he actually decided to keep it as a pet. Wow! Have you ever heard of an earthworm pet? His neighbors have flocked to his house to view the oddity.

This giant earthworm is 19 inches long. Even so, it certainly seems to be a strange pet. Of course, Zhiwei couldn't very well kill this astonishing creature, so perhaps making it his pet was the only thing he could do.

Ultimately, though, this astonishing earthworm may end up being studied by scientists so that they can figure out why the creature grew to such a large size. Have your neighbors ever had an unusual pet?
